Comment:
Isospora belli oocyst long, oval 20 - 33 microns x 19 - 19 microns in faecal preparation. Usually the oocysts contain only 1 immature sporont but 2 may be present. Development continues outside the body with the development of 2 mature sporocysts each containing 4 sporozoites which can also be recovered from a faecal specimen.
